Nature-Inspired Retreat Overlooking the Sound
This unique property backs onto a ravine, surrounded by mature trees and offering serene views of the Sound—an ideal setting for its nature loving and avid birding inhabitants.
The existing primary bath was in need of attention, featuring builder-grade finishes and poor ventilation. By reclaiming unused attic space, we were able to expand the room, introducing a luxurious tub and shower area beneath a new skylight. Custom cabinetry maximized storage while natural stone, handmade tile and unlacquered brass contribute to the nature inspired aesthetic. The result is a spa-like retreat that celebrates both form and function. The family bathroom was also fully gutted, with all finishes upgraded to reflect the client's desire for durability and beauty, while maintaining the overall connection to the home’s natural surroundings.
The original fireplace lacked character and after discovering Pasadena Tile, the clients were inspired to create a one-of-a-kind custom carved tile fireplace. The final design features a Red Alder tree from their property, a favorite perch for visiting chickadees, and a nod to the local crows that frequent their yard. The result is a highly personal and meaningful focal point that brings the outdoors in.
