House For Grandfather

After losing his wife, this historian moved to join his daughter and her family in a small custom built house next door. They planned an apartment together that would serve him into his old age with an accessible bathroom, bedroom study and south facing living room overlooking the family garden. Hardwood floors mean there is nothing to trip on, a galley kitchen makes it easy for an older person to negotiate. Statues from Italy remind him of his love of Italy and his extensive historical knowledge.
