Alexandra is just the best architect I can imagine working with for a home remodel. I had a very large complete remodel of a home filled with many important memories. She was amazingly good at helping me make the changes needed as well as making room for all the meaning behind each room and space. I cannot compliment her enough, nor recommend her high enough. Having never worked with an architect before, I did not know what to expect. I did assume I’d get help with the initial measuring of the old kitchen, all its idiosyncrasies and strange angles, and then fitting a new plan into that place. Once the math was done, it was all fun. There was never any shortage of excitement and creativity. I loved that Liebherr refrigerator you turned me onto. It fit so perfectly in its skinny space. (Everything fit actually. The math and the design was all accurate and good). The folding table was brilliant. Everybody loves it, especially me.

My wife Anne and I have worked with Alexandra on two major projects in two years.
The first project was an extensive kitchen/dining room/foyer remodel with a 600 s/f addition. Alexandra was wonderful to work with. She heard Anne’s vision of the new space, and made it work by coming up with imaginative ways to match our existing roof line and integrate a huge amount of window and door space in the new perimeter walls while meeting seismic and other building code requirements. We love our new living home area. Alexandra’s execution of Anne’s concept has brought tons of new light, living space, and beauty to our home.

The second project was a detached 700 s/f garage/shop that we wanted to be attractive as well as functional. Alexandra worked from a modified stock garage/shop plan to ensure city approval of the shop, including its skylights, semi-finished attic storage, heating system and aesthetic features. When we ran into site plan approval issues with the city, Alexandra found out what we needed to provide, and got it done quickly and economically. The shop is done now, and we just received final approval from the city. Anne and I are pleased that the new structure will meet our space needs, and we love the way it emulates and compliments the design features of our home.

Anne and I would be happy to work with Alexandra again, and recommend her most highly to anyone looking for a capable, approachable, and imaginative design consultant.
